Starting  Monday, September 13 the Wootten Gym floor
in the Convocation Center will be refinished.
The gym floor will be OFF LIMITS to ALL foot traffic until Sept. 27.

ALL athletes wishing to play a winter or spring sport must have their ATS completed before they can work out with the team. Out of Season Activities (OSA's) will be starting mid September for various sports (basketball, baseball, lacrosse, etc.). ALL candidates must have their information submitted to the training room before they can start OSA's.

If you are not vaccinated the Health Department will be at DeMatha on
Tuesday, October 5.

Sports Lockers
Sports Lockers are available for $5 (cash only) from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Please see Mrs. Kaderabek in the Athletic Office located in the Convocation Center.

DeMatha football is looking for managers for all levels.

Basketball Open Gym
Basketball 'open gym' for UPPERCLASSMEN will began Monday, September 13th
in our ORGINAL GYM.  It will take place from 3:15pm-5:30pm.
The fall schedule will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays of each week.

Basketball 'open gym' for UNDERCLASSMEN will begin Monday, October 4th,
site to be determined. It too, will take place from 3:15pm-5:30pm.

Please be reminded that Fall Sport athletes are NOT allowed to participate
in the aforementioned 'open gyms'.

Also, all health forms must be uploaded through the ATS portal
before participation in 'open gyms' is allowed.

Lastly, Basketball TRYOUTS for all three levels - Varsity, Junior Varsity and Freshmen -
commence on Monday, November 8th.

Ms. Kaderabek in the Wilson Athletic Suite in the Convocation Center.

Free Metro Shuttle Bus

College Park Metro Station pick up and drop off
Shuttle bus will pick up from College Park ROUTE ONE SIDE at 7:45 AM each morning
and will depart DeMatha at 3:10 PM each day



Student Absence
An absence or tardy to school or class may be excused with a phone call, note, or email sent to the Attendance Office (240-764-2230, This applies to illness, school related events, some weather conditions, death in the family, court appearance, or college visit (Seniors or Juniors only). Traffic, even with notification, is not considered excused.

School Attendance & COVID
Students must enter through the main circle entrance or if entering the Convocation Center, through the Madison Street entrance.  Staff members will be positioned at those entrances to check students' health screening status until 8:30 AM.  Students arriving at school after that time will report to the Attendance Office where a staff member will check their health screening status. All Students will need to respond to the health screening questions on the app every morning.  Students must show their green checkmark (on the app) as they enter the building for the day.

Leaving Campus 
Students are not permitted to leave campus while school is in session, including getting lunch. Students will receive a Saturday detention if they are found leaving campus during the school day.  Students with a free last period may leave school grounds provided they have transportation.  Students may not leave school grounds for any reason and then return for transportation.  Students with a free last period, who are staying on campus, must report to designated study locations.  All freshmen and sophomores are assigned to study halls during free periods.  Please refer to the Student Handbook for information and to familiarize yourself with school policies and procedures.
