Daily Mass: The celebration of daily mass will take place today at 7:45 AM in the chapel. All are welcome to spend some time in prayer every day.
SAT Prep began Monday, October 7th. The fall SAT is now open to both juniors and seniors! If interested, please sign up in the Counseling Center. Verbal will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays. Math will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays in room 205. See Mr. Smith or Mr. Hurst with any questions.

Mock Trial will hold an organizational meeting Thursday, 10/10 during Interim in Room 7305, Mr. McConnell's classroom. New and returning members are welcome. If you can't make the meeting, please email Mr. McConnell or stop by his classroom sometime this week.
DeMatha Wrestling Parents Meeting: There will be an informational meeting for parents of current and potential wrestlers on the evening of Thursday, October 10th. Meeting will start at 6:00 p.m. in room 7302 of the Convocation Center and last about an hour. Information will cover the sport, the coaches, program goals, and our tentative practice/event schedule. If you cannot make it but had questions or concerns please reach out to Coach Devine at firstname.lastname@example.org
Lost and Found: We have several items in the lost and found in the Attendance Office. We will be donating any unclaimed items this Friday, October 11th. If you are missing jackets, lunch boxes, books, etc. please stop by to check if we have them. There are also lost and found items in bins outside of the Training Room.
Kaleidoscope Concert, Saturday, October 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the LT (SEAL) Brendan Looney ’99 Convocation Center. All instrumental groups participate. Beginning at 6:15 p.m. enjoy hors d’oeuvres, refreshments while supporting the DeMatha Instrumental Music Program. Please see the website for further ticket information.
No Classes, Monday, October 14: The school and offices will be closed for Columbus Day.
Full Uniform Required, Tuesday, October 15: Students must be in full uniform beginning next Tuesday, October 15th. See the Student Handbook pages 71 & 72 for specifics on uniform requirements. Students are also required to be clean shaven. Facial hair is NOT permitted except for neatly groomed mustaches.
MANDATORY Standardized Testing, Wednesday, October 16th: Testing for ALL 9th, 10th and 11th graders only. No Classes for 12th grade.
· Full winter uniform required
· Bring two #2 pencils
· Students arriving early are to report to the original gym
· Students should be in classroom 8:15 AM, testing will end approximately 12:30 PM
· Cafeteria will be closed – no food service
· Snack Bar open 12:00 to 1:00 PM ONLY – cash needed, student ID does not work at Snack Bar
· After school waiting room will be in the original gym
· Students are not to leave campus and then return for transportation
· Buses run on a REGULAR schedule for both AM and PM – departing DeMatha at 3:10 PM
· College Park Metro Shuttle will pick up at regular time and depart DeMatha at 1:00 PM
OPTIONAL Senior Workshop Wednesday, October 10th: Seniors will working on their college applications, as well as their college essays/ personal statements in the Convocation Center 7302 from 8:15 AM to 12:00 noon.
DeMatha Stag Store will be open Wednesday, October 10 from 8:00 AM until 12:00 noon.
National Honor Society: Any Sophomore, Junior or Senior interested in joining the National Honor Society can pick up an application packet in the Counseling Center. All candidate information will be due no later than Thursday, Oct. 24th.
Open Gym will be held in the original gym Monday through Thursday from 3:00 – 4:30 PM.
