Bus Transportation Will Not Be Available for Quarter 2 (2020)

Dear DeMatha Families,

During a normal school year, we typically have approximately 200 students using bus transportation. That includes students from both DeMatha and Elizabeth Seton. When DeMatha transitioned to the hybrid model, Elizabeth Seton continued to use online-only learning. Many families have also elected to use online-only learning at DeMatha. Due to a large loss in ridership, in addition to the differing schedules among DeMatha students during the hybrid model, the expected cost of bus transportation steadily increased as we planned to open registration. After consulting with both the Administration and the Finance Office, I am sorry to announce that we have decided to postpone bus transportation until further notice, and we will reevaluate this option for the second semester. While students will not be able to use the bus to attend school in-person, they will still be able to "attend" virtually.

As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns at Thank you for your patience, and I hope that you and your families remain safe and healthy!

Bus Service Schedule and Changes Are Updated and Listed Below. (Normal Service is listed in Specific Route Information Sheets)

There are no events to display

DeMatha Catholic High School offers School Bus Transportation from various areas and also provides transportation to Elizabeth Seton Catholic High School. DeMatha and Seton students who sign up for two-way transportation are given first priority, over those who use the services one-way.

Bus service includes a morning trip, return trip, and services on mid-term and final exam dates. The DeMatha and Seton School Calendars are used with considerations for specific events and situations. DeMatha will decide delayed openings and early dismissals.

In general, pickup locations are typically at centralized points to facilitate a quick and safe collection of students without delaying traffic. Afternoon drop offs consider quick and safe locations, generally in the same vicinity as the morning pickups. We cannot provide "door to door" service due to timing and traffic patterns especially during morning rush hour periods. In the past, centrally located pick-up and drop-off points have worked out very well.

Inclement Weather Policy

In case of a 2 hour delay for Prince George's County Schools due to weather, bus routes will pick up 2 hours later than the usual time. For example, if the usual pick up time is 6:30 a.m., the pick up time would then be 8:30 a.m.
