The DeMatha Catholic Way

DeMatha's strong athletic tradition is built on determination, leadership, sportsmanship and the drive to compete for championships and prepare for the next level. DeMatha coaches take pride in their players' growth toward developing into Faith-filled Gentlemen and Scholars athletically, academically, socially and in the community.
 

Athletic Program

DeMatha competes in the highly competitive Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) against other private schools such as Gonzaga, O'Connell, St. John's, McNamara, Paul VI and Good Counsel. The Stags field teams in cross country, football (Var, JV, FR), soccer (Var, JV, FR), basketball (Var, JV, FR), wrestling, baseball (Var, JV, FR), golf (Var, JV), hockey (Prep, Var), lacrosse (Var, JV), swimming and diving, tennis and track (Var, JV).

In addition, DeMatha features teams in rowing (Var, Novice), indoor track and rugby that compete in various conferences throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Hockey and swimming also compete for championships in additional leagues.
