The DeMatha Catholic Way
DeMatha Catholic’s strong athletic tradition, which includes both the past and the present, is built on determination, leadership, sportsmanship, and the drive to excel and reach the utmost potential in preparation for the next level. All of DeMatha’s coaches take pride in both the athlete’s evolution while competing in their sport, and in developing them into true DeMatha Gentlemen and Scholars athletically, academically, and in the community.
DeMatha Catholic competes in the highly competitive Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) and play other private schools in the Archdiocese of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia; such as Archbishop Carroll, Bishop Ireton, Bishop McNamara, Bishop O’Connell, Good Counsel, Gonzaga, Paul VI, St. John’s College, and St. Mary’s Ryken; in Cross Country, Football (Var, JV, FR), Soccer (Var, JV, FR), Basketball (Var, JV, FR), Wrestling, Baseball (Var, JV, FR), Golf (Var, JV), Lacrosse (Var, JV, FR), Tennis, and Track (Var, JV).
In addition, DeMatha Catholic features both a Novice and Varsity Crew Team, a Prep and Varsity 2 level Ice Hockey team, Indoor Track, and a Swim team which compete in various conferences in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area.
