Fr. Cyprian Nusca, O.SS.T Scholarships are significant four-year partial scholarships and are awarded to those incoming freshmen who have been accepted into the Nusca Scholars program. These students are selected based on their exceptional academic performance as demonstrated in their transcripts, recommendations, application essays, and HSPT results. All applicants who apply by December 13th are eligible for consideration for the Nusca Scholars program.

Mr. Anthony Fotos, now retired, was a Fine Arts teacher at DeMatha for forty-one years. DeMatha honors him and his contribution to the Art Program by awarding $500 art scholarships to five entering freshmen. The award is based on an evaluation of the student's art portfolio by the Art Department Chairperson. An application is sent to the student when "Art Award" is checked on admission applications that are received by December 13th.

Fr. Paul Donovan was one of the first Trinitarians to minister at DeMatha in 1946 as the founding Principal and an English teacher. In the 1950s Fr. Paul began the DeMatha Drama program which was the seed for the current DeMatha Players who annually perform two challenging works, both comedic and dramatic, one in the fall and one in the spring at local venues. In 1965, Fr. Paul was elected to the General Trinitarian Leadership Team and was assigned to its main office in Rome. DeMatha honors Fr. Paul and his contribution to the Drama Program by awarding $500 drama scholarships to five entering freshmen. Students must apply by December 13 and check "Drama Award" on the application for admission. Notification of auditions will be sent to the student in late February.

Mr. John Moylan joined DeMatha in 1956 and served as principal from September 1968 to June of 2000. In 1970, Mr. Moylan established the DeMatha Music Program that has grown to include over 40% of the student body, both instrumentalists and vocalists. Music Scholarships are available to students who show exceptional talent. Students must apply by December 13 and check "Music Award" on the application for admission. Notification of auditions will be sent to the student.

The John Walker '65 Scholarship is awarded to applicants who have demonstrated exceptional character and leadership potential as evidenced in their recommendations, application essay, and service activities. 

Each year the DC Knights of Columbus, through its charitable foundation, offer $500 scholarships in support of DC resident students who wish to attend or are attending Catholic High Schools in the area. Students can apply completely online at charities.dcknights.org/scholarship or they can also download an application and submit via email or USPS.

Applications and related materials must be received no later than January 20, 2023 to be considered. Decisions will be made by February 9, 2023.
