Stag For A Day (Shadow Program)
It is strongly recommended that any 8th grade student considering DeMatha as a high school option experience a "typical" day here. The 8th grader, or Stag-for-a-Day, will spend a full day with a current DeMatha student, or Host. Details on the 'Shadow Program' can be found below.
- Arrive by 8:00 a.m. Parents drive to the front circle of campus on Madison Street for drop-off--parking is not necessary. Stags-for-a-Day report to the Admissions Office in St. John DeMatha Hall. Admissions Staff will be present outside for greeting.
- Appropriate attire for school attendance required. Dress shirt, tie, and dress pants preferred. No jeans or sneakers.
- Lunch is provided.
- Visit ends at 2:00 p.m. Parents park in any available spot on campus, then report to the third floor of the LT (SEAL) Brendan Looney '00 Convocation Center, the first building to your right as you enter campus from Route 1, to join Stags-for-a-Day for conclusion. Admissions Staff will be present to receive and direct you.
- Please contact Rob Landini at email@example.com or 240-764-2109 with questions.
Stag-for-a-Day registration will not be available until early September. Please check back after September 1, then read the below instructions before clicking on the sign-up box at the bottom of the page.
Step 1: Complete Pre-Application. Select '2019-2020' as Prospective Year--the '2019-2020' academic year begins next fall. Once you get to the Interest tab, please select your Prospect at the top from the drop-down box, then check each of his areas of interest. If you do NOT select your Prospect, his interests will NOT be saved, and we will be unable to communicate those to teachers, moderators, and coaches within the school for potential follow-up. If Prospect would like to attend Honors level courses, please indicate in Notes field.
Step 2: When finished with the Pre-Application, continue to Admissions Portal. Once inside Portal, click View Application button located under student's name, grade, and prospective year on left side of page.
Step 3: Schedule Shadow Program Visit, the first Portal item. Once visit date is confirmed by Admissions Office, confirmation will be reflected in message inside light blue box under Shadow Visit item in Portal. You must log back in to Portal to view confirmation message--a confirmation email will NOT be sent. ALLOW STAFF ONE FULL SCHOOL DAY FROM TIME OF SELECTION TO POST CONFIRMATION MESSAGE.
Step 4: Be certain to review bulleted text above for drop-off, attire, and pick-up information. A reminder email will be sent the day prior to the confirmed visit date.
We look forward to hosting your student. Schedule the visit now by clicking below:
