Placement in Honors, Advanced Placement, and Dual-Enrollment is determined by previous academic performance and placement exams. Freshmen in our award-winning music program delay either Social Studies or World Language until their sophomore year.

As a regional school with students from over 120 zip codes, DeMatha offers bus transportation throughout Maryland and Washington, DC. Popular bus stops include Olney, Rockville, Bethesda, Kensington, Silver Spring, Fulton, Laurel, Davidsonville, Dunkirk, Indian Head, Waldorf, Camp Springs, Upper Marlboro, Bowie, Glenn Dale, Greenbelt, Capitol Hill, and Union Station.

Additionally, DeMatha provides a free shuttle to the nearby University of Maryland-College Park Metro station in the morning and afternoon.

Transportation Update for the SY 26-27:

As we look toward the next school year, we are excited to announce that DeMatha and Seton have partnered with Zeelo, an outside transportation specialist, to manage our morning and afternoon bus routes. While our current bus routes will remain the same, we are moving to a more flexible, app based system for families. Registration opens 6/1.

Welcome to the DeMatha Family!

We are excited to offer summer academic opportunities for incoming freshmen to experience the DeMatha brotherhood, meet teachers, keep their minds active, and make new friends this summer!

Registration opens in April for our Math and English Enrichments courses and our Engineering and Robotics camps. There is high interest in these opportunities, and each class/camp is limited to fifteen spaces per week.

Our Athletic Trainers serve as the school nurses during the regular school day and are responsible for maintaining health and immunization records for all students.

DeMatha uses Magnus Health to securely manage student health information. Access your Magnus Health account here or through the Veracross Parent Portal.

Please note that all required forms and permissions in Magnus must be completed before your son may participate in athletic tryouts, practices, or games.
