English 9 Prep is designed to give students a solid foundation in English grammar and usage. While reading through select texts, strategies are introduced to increase reading engagement and interpretation. Students practice their own sentence-writing skills, and deepen their understanding of text through class discussion and written responses. The skills covered in this course prepare students for writing and reading expectations across DeMatha's freshman curriculum.
Alegbra Prep is designed to improve a student's general knowledge of Mathematics in preparation for an Algebra 1 course. The course emphasizes the fundamentals of arithmetic and introduces Pre-Algebra concepts. While many students have been exposed to such fundamentals and concepts, most are not proficient in ALL of the content covered, which is necessary for success in Algebra 1.
