Welcome to DeMatha Catholic High School! Every high school prepares students for college. At DeMatha, we also prepare them for life. 

For 80 years, the brotherhood forged on Madison Street has produced over 11,000 men of faith and character. Rooted in the values of our founders, the Trinitarian Order, the DeMatha community shapes students into the Faith-Filled Gentlemen and Scholars that we are called to develop. At DeMatha, a student will find rigorous academics, and he’ll also find a place where he belongs. 

Our dedicated teachers make sure to fully understand the interests, abilities, and backgrounds of their students. They push young men to reach their full potential and provide support whenever life gets hard. At DeMatha, mentorship doesn’t end when the bell rings. Whether your son is completing a project with his peers in our Academic Support Center, practicing music in the Brendan McCarthy ’64 Music Center, designing and building a robot in our Cross Center for Engineering, Arts, and Robotics, or competing as an athlete on the field or court, he will be surrounded by brothers who challenge him and mentors who believe in him.

We are located just down the road from the University of Maryland and steps from the Hyattsville Arts District, which is the perfect home for a school that sits at the intersection of tradition and innovation. However, what makes DeMatha special is not its campus; it is the bonds that students build here, which often last for decades past graduation day.
