Mission
The purpose of the Spanish Honor Society is to recognize high achievement in Spanish class and to promote a continued interest in the Spanish and Hispanic cultures as well as study of the language. All members must be Honors Spanish 3 or above and have an overall grade of at least a B- to apply. There is an induction ceremony in the fall for new members that apply and convocation ceremony for seniors in the spring for those that meet the service requirements. The students are required to participate in a tutoring program for Spanish as well as take action in the Spanish-speaking community in and around Washington, DC. The club provides opportunities to complete these service hours. Students that do not participate sufficiently or do not maintain a B- average will not participate in the convocation ceremony in the spring.
