Daily Mass will be celebrated during the interim period at 10:30 a.m. in the school chapel. All are welcome to spend some time in prayer every day.

Friday, March 17, the Feast of St. Patrick.Because so many people want to celebrate the faith and heritage of St. Patrick, the Bishop has granted a Lenten dispensation and meat may be eaten this Friday. All of us are encouraged to perform another act of penance and self-denial in keeping with the spirit of the Lenten season.

Adoration:We will once again be having adoration on Friday mornings in the chapel beginning at 7:45 for 20 minutes during the Lenten season. Please join us in spending a few quiet moments with God on Friday mornings. You are welcome to drop in for the entire time or just a few moments.

Counseling Center:

  • There will be a Rustic Pathways information session in the library during interim today Friday, 3/17 for any interested student wanting information on spring break and summer service programs, as well as gap year service programs for the class of 2017. The library will be closed during interim unless you are there for this Rustic Pathways session.

Friday, March 17th is the last day to sign up for the Catholic Charities Youth Service day on April 1st. Students will earn 5 service hours and send the day with other high school students around the area. Please pick up a permission for from Mrs. Bright in the CMO.

SAT Prep Class: Registration forms for the next SAT Prep Class which begins April 10, 2017, are available in the Counseling Center. In preparation for the May 6, SAT test. Verbal review will be on Monday and Wednesday and Math Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM on the third floor of St. John DeMatha Hall. $50 for one course and $90 for both courses. All materials will be provided by the instructor except for pencils.

NHS Tag Day will take place this Friday, March 17. Wear green. The cost is $2. Tag day rules apply. You many NOT wear ay of the following: Flip Flops/sandals, headwear or clothing with inappropriate messages. Earrings, shorts and sweats are permissible.

Senior Quote:Please email your senior quote to seniorquotes@dematha.org along with who said it. If you don't, we will provide a quote for you.

Prom Tickets will be available for purchase in the Business Office in St. John DeMatha Hall starting Monday, March 13 through Friday, April 21 for $70 per person. Payment by cash or check. No refunds. Formal attire is required. The prom will be held on Friday, May 5th at the College Park Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, University of Maryland, 3501 University Blvd East, Adelphi, MD 20783 from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Check-in begins at 6:30 PM. Dinner will be served at 7:30.

SADD is holding a cell phone drive. Drop off your old cell phone in the box located in the Main Office.
