Application Process/Apply Online

Students attending a Catholic elementary/middle school in the Archdiocese of Washington

1. Students must submit an application to DeMatha by December 15th. Applications may be downloaded (see below) and sent with an application fee of $50 to Admissions Office/DeMatha Catholic High School, 4313 Madison Street, Hyattsville, MD 20781, or you may apply online. (see box to the right)
2. In addition, to be reviewed for admission, a student must check DeMatha as one of the two allowed choices on the high school choice form distributed at the middle schools. Catholic middle schools automatically send transcripts and recommendations to the school(s) checked on the choice form. (Do not use the enclosed Records and Recommendation Form included with the application).
3. If interested in scholarships and/or financial aid, please review the Scholarship and Financial Aid Information page for instructions on how to apply. Deadline for aid is  early December for the Archdiocese of Washington and December 15th for DeMatha Grants.

Students attending a public, private or home school

1. Students must complete an application by either downloading forms or applying online. If you choose to mail in an application, please mail to Admissions Office/DeMatha Catholic High School, 4313 Madison Street, Hyattsville, MD 20781. The application deadline is December 15. A $50 application fee must accompany the application.
2. Register for the High School Placement Test (HSPT) administered by the Archdiocese of Washington. Test dates are Saturday, December 5th (Registration deadline: Friday, November 20) and Saturday, December 12th (Registration deadline: Friday, December 4). Click on link after October 10th to register: Catholic Schools Work. (Click on "High School Placement Test” in the right margin of the web site). Please note that you must register early to secure a testing date.
3. Make three copies of the Records Request and Recommendation Form and submit the forms to your school counselor, English teacher and Math teacher. Forms must be sent directly to DeMatha from your school. All forms are due January 14th.
4. If interested in scholarships and/or financial aid, please review the Scholarship and Financial Aid Information page for instructions on how to apply. Deadline for aid is early December 4th for the Archdiocese of Washington and December 15th for DeMatha Grants.

Students who wish to transfer into the 10th or 11th grades

1. Complete an application and return it along with a $50 application fee to DeMatha Catholic High School. If you are applying to the tenth grade, you must register to take the Catholic High School Placement Test (HSPT). Register for  the test at Catholic Schools Work.
2. Submit the Records Request and Recommendation Form to your school counselor, and your English and Math teachers.
