Course Descriptions

Prep English is designed to give students a solid foundation in English grammar and usage. The skills covered in this course will help prepare students for writing expectations across DeMatha’s freshman curriculum.

Prep Reading is a course that prepares students for their 9th grade reading requirements. Students will read a carefully selected group of texts and practice strategies to increase reading engagement and interpretation. Students will also practice deepening their understanding of a text through class discussion and written responses.
